1.The academic qualifications for work of a foreigner shall comply with one of the following situations:
(1) A degree from a university or an independent college within or outside Taiwan recognized by the Ministry of Education.
(2) For education received from an overseas university or independent college apart from those received in the previous subparagraph, the Ministry may ask the employer to provide documents issued by the local education authority verifying the educational certificate is equivalent to bachelor degree or college diploma in accordance with the provisions of “Regulations Regarding the Assessment and Recognition of Foreign Academic Credentials for Institutions of Higher Education” and “Implementation Regulations Regarding Distance Learning by Universities” set by the Ministry of Education before verification and recognition.
2.In addition, according to Regulations Regarding the Assessment and Recognition of Foreign Academic Credentials for Institutions of Higher Education and Implementation Regulations Regarding Distance Learning by Universities, for those whose degree is received through distance learning, their credits from distance learning courses may not exceed 50% of the total credits for graduation. 3.If the academic credentials was received in the following countries or regions, they must be ratified by an overseas ROC representative office: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bengal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cuba, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Laos, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
